League Rules:
• Players must be four (4), five (5) or six (6) years of age to participate in the program. A player's age will be determined in accordance with PONY Baseball rules.
• League Play will start approximately the end of April and continue until the end of June. The season will encompass approximately eight weeks.
• Players will be divided into age specific groups (i.e., a four (4) and five (5) year old league and a six (6) year old league).
The division of age groups will depend on the number of registrants.
• Participants will be divided into teams of no more than twelve (12) players. If possible, we will have teams with only 7-8 players.
• Teams will be formed in the following manner:
− Parents may request that participants be placed with friends/neighbors at registration time.
The league coordinator will attempt to honor all such requests. Requests made after teams have been formed will not be honored.
- Remaining participants will be assigned so that there is an even number of players on each team.
• Scrimmage games will be played between teams. A game schedule will be provided by the SVBSA.
• A practice schedule will be provided by the SVBSA for each team.
• Games for the 4 year old league will be 1 hour in duration.
- The first half of the season players will work on drills to build baseball skills (catching, throwing, and hitting).
- Second half of the season the first thirty (30) minutes will work on drills; the last thirty (30) minutes will be 2 inning scrimmage.
• Games for 5 year old and 6 year old leagues will be 1.5 hours in duration.
5 year olds will use the first hour to work on drills to build baseball skills (catching, throwing, and hitting). The last 30 minutes will be 2 inning scrimmage.
6 year olds will use the first thirty (30) minutes to work on drills to build baseball skills (catching, throwing, and hitting). The last hour scrimmage.
− The defensive team will play all players in the field. Managers should put players in positions rather than simply filling all gaps in the infield.
• Use of Pony League approved bats USA Bat stamped 2-5/8" diameter barrel and smaller are to be used.  All other bats are prohibited.

Four Year Old Specific Rules:
• Batting tee will be used at all times (i.e., no coach pitch).
• Inning ends when all players have a chance to bat.
• Players will advance 1 base on a hit. Last player to bat will go all the way around the bases (home run).

Five Year Old Specific Rules:
• For all innings of scrimmages, coach pitch is permitted. After five (5) pitches the tee will be used.
• Inning ends when all players have a chance to bat.
• Players will advance 1 base on a hit. Last player to bat will go all the way around the bases (home run).

Six Year Old Specific Rules:
• For all innings of scrimmages, coach pitch is permitted. After five (5) pitches or three (3) strikes the tee will be used.
• Inning ends when 3 outs are recorded or all players have a chance to bat.
• Players can continue to advance bases until the defense has touched the ball. If players in between bases when the ball is touched they can continue to that base but not advance further.
• Last player to bat will go all the way around the bases (home run) if three outs are not recorded.
